Privacy Policy (Handling of Personal Information)
The Nature Conservation Society of Japan
The Nature Conservation Society of Japan (“us”, “our”, “NACS-J” or “the Association”)) has established a policy on the handling of personal information in order to achieve appropriate protection of the privacy of individuals, and will strive to properly manage and use information, and will continuously maintain and improve this policy.
1. Compliance with related laws and regulations
The Association will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other related laws and regulations.
2. Purpose of use of personal information
The Association will use personal information within the scope of the purposes of use indicated at the timing of acquisition and the following purposes of use.
Purpose of use
- To send information such as newsletters, publications, activity reports, and event information of the Association
- To ask for support for our activities, such as membership and donations
- To communicate with you in relation to business, partnerships, and exchanges necessary for our activities
- To respond to your opinions and requests
- For other purposes necessary for the business of the association
3. Acquisition of personal information
Personal information will be acquired in an appropriate and fair manner within the scope of the purposes of use specified by the Association.
4.Provision of personal data to a third party
The personal information provided (registered) will not be disclosed to any third party. However, this does not apply in any of the following cases:
- with the consent of the user
- when required by law
- when it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of an individual and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
- when it is especially necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
- 5. when it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by either of the foregoing in executing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual is likely to impede the execution of such affairs
5.Management of personal data
Necessary and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that personal data is accurate and up-to-date. In addition, we will take sufficient security measures to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, falsification, loss, or destruction of personal data, and in the event of an accident, we will promptly take appropriate measures to prevent the damage from spreading and recurrence. In addition, we will appoint a personal information protection manager in our secretariat and make efforts to inform and educate our staff.
6. Response to requests for disclosure, correction, and suspension of use
When we receive a request for disclosure, correction, or suspension of use of personal data in our possession, we will respond promptly after confirming the identity of the person making the inquiry. In principle, we will only respond to requests from the person himself/herself in question, except in cases where there are unavoidable circumstances that are judged to be generally reasonable, such as a request from a representative such as a family member.
